We were in contact with you in 2023 concerning our investigation into China’s seafood processing industry. We are contacting you now regarding our ongoing investigation into aquaculture and the global fishmeal and fish oil industry, which has uncovered an array of industry-wide environmental and human rights concerns. These concerns date from between 2018 and the present, and they pertain to events or conditions on land or at sea.

I emailed Asda on March 9, 2026, about our ongoing investigation into aquaculture and the global fishmeal and fish oil industry. Our supply chain research has found additional information which we wanted to bring to Asda for comment or clarification. 

Asda is supplied shrimp products from Lyons Seafood, a UK based importer. Between 2023 and 2026, the Ecuadorian aquaculture company Operadora y Procesador de Productos Marinos (Omarsa) sent dozens of shipments of frozen shrimp products to Lyons Seafood, according to trade data.
